Full Body Tan – $40
Look like you have been on a holiday to the Bahamas…. no one needs to know you’ve really only been to Rouse Hill!
Remember – cheap tans aren’t nice…. and nice tans aren’t cheap…
At DNA we proudly use Black Magic spray tanning products and also have tanning after care available for you to purchase so you can get the most out of your tan.
Before you come in for a tan you need to prepare your skin to help your tan last. Do any hair removal like shaving/waxing at least 24 hours before. Exfoliate using a loofa and a non-oil based body wash in the shower just before coming in. Don’t rub your skin raw, just be nice and thorough. Don’t wear any creams, deodorant or perfumes to your appointment if possible as this can affect he tan and make it go strange colours like orange (no one likes a orange tan!!) We provide a disposable g-string and a head cap and barrier cream for your palms or dry patches of skin. You are more than welcome to wear your own undergarments to have your tan, preferably in a dark colour. Tan does wash out of clothing but maybe best not to wear a good pair of knickers!
We also do competition tanning and bodybuilding tanning. See below for prices.
We have approximately 9 different tanning solutions in stock at any one time so we can customise your tan to you – 8 hour regular, 2 hour regular, 2 hour dark, 12% Argan, 15% Argan tan, Super Natural tan solution with 100% Organic DHA (DHA is the active ingredient in tanning solutions which is what colours the skin)…. Its your choice which colour you choose. If you are unsure of which to go with our therapists can guide you as to what we think would be best for your skin tone.
We do 2 coats with all of our tans, this ensures you get 7-10 days out of your tan in conjunction with the proper home care. Moisturising from after day 1 for the duration of the tan will help ensure it stays looking good and not ‘crack’ or come off patchy. However things like excessive sweating or chlorine and swimming can affect the look and last of your spray tan.
- Full Body $40
- Half Body $25
2 tans for $35 each or 3 tans for $30 each – Come in with a friend or your bridal party at the same time for a tan and you will each save up to $10 on your tan.
Competition tanning using Black Magic Muscle Tan –
- 2 coats of Muscle Tan in one tanning session – $50
- 1 coat of Muscle Tan $30
- If you are to come back the day after and 2 coats is required, the price is $50. You will need to rinse off the first application of tan prior to having your 2nd coat/s applied.
Raining on the day you’re getting your tan? As glamorous as this sounds, we suggest wearing track pants, an over-sized hoodie and a pair of ugg boots. This way you’re pretty much completely covered getting in and out of the car…. an umbrella wouldn’t go astray either!
‘I’m going out tonight’ Package – $89 (valued at $105)
Gel/Shellac polish on hands + feet and full body spray tan (2hr or 8hr regular solutions, its your choice!)
It is recommended that you shave 24 hours prior to tanning. Shower and exfoliate with a non-oil based exfoliant and do not wear any perfume, deodorant or moisturisers when coming in for your tan.
“HELP! I just washed my 2 hour tan off and it all washed down the drain!!!”
Dont panic, this is completely normal. After you have washed your 2 hour tan off it will in fact look like it has all gone. The colour will continue to develop over the next 24-36 hours. Ensure you moisturise DAILY, especially after showering – this is what is going to make your tan last longer. Tan sticks to skin cells, the more you keep those skin cells on there the longer and healthier your tan will last!

Q: What causes a tan to go orange?
A: There are a few reasons why a tan can turn orange:
1. Too much tanning solution has been applied to the skin
2. The product has been left longer on the skin than the recommended time frames and over developed. What.
3. The DHA level is too high for the clients skin type
4. The clients PH balance is out of kilter
5. If you used a competitor product using a cheap quality DHA
Q: How many coats should I do?
A: 2 light even coats per tan, using approximately 50mls of solution per application. We recommend you monitor solution usage to obtain maximum return on your investment.
Q: What dos the pH balance of the skin mean?
A:pH Balance is the key to great skin pH stands for “potential hydrogen” and is used to describe the acid-alkaline ratio of a substance, which ranges from 0 (the most acidic) to 14 (the most alkaline). When the skins pH balance is out of kilter it can have a negative impact on your tan. To work its best, the acid mantle should be slightly acidic, at a 5.5 pH balance. When it’s too alkaline, skin becomes dry and sensitive; you may even get eczema.
Q: How do you conduct a patch test?
A: A ‘patch test’ is normally conducted at least 24 hours prior to a full body spray. Apply a small amount of tanning solution on a
cotton bud, behind the ear or crook of the arm. If the client develops any reaction it will indicate a possible allergy. NB: If the client does not wish to do this ensure they sign they have chosen to refuse the test on your client record card.
Q: Is it safe to spray tan when pregnant ?
A: While spray tanning has proven to be a safe practice for over fifty years, having a tan when pregnant is the clients choice and not one you should make!
Q: Can you spray tan someone with eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis?
A: If suffering from Eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis it is permitted to spray tan providing the client is not in a classic ‘flare up’ stage. a suitable moisturiser over the driest -areas will prevent total absorption of the product and give the best results.
Q: What causes a client to have no colour after her spray tan ?
A: There can be a number of variables that can impact such as:
1. Rapid tans mean you can shower early and sometimes there is an expectation that the colour will be fully developed after one or two hours, when the tan is still developing up to 12 hours in some cases until full colour is evident.
2. The client has expected to see instant colour upon showering and not waited for the full development time.
3. hormonal changes caused through medications, drugs, illness and more can negatively impact on a clients tan. In extreme cases the tan may not even take.
4. The client had a rapid tan and instead of lightly rinsing off the bronzer they scrubbed it off removing the tan which continues to develop underneath.
